There are plenty of resources for you to use to find home listings on the internet. Nothing, however, is quite like having your own free Listingbook Account. Listingbook essentially gives buyers and sellers direct access into the Greater Fairfield County Consolidated MLS.

You can receive daily reports with new or changed listings that meet the criteria you set up — but that’ not all.  With the powerful notes feature you can write yourself “sticky notes” attahced to a specific listing which you can read later or share with your partner – or you can, with just a click or two, select a property as a favorite so that you can both sit down later and look only at the ones you selected.

You can even use the messaging feature to write a note which will come, through the system to your Realtor (me) which will pop up in my Listingbook account.  I will then see the message with you question and then answer it directly on a sticky note that will be attached to the property in question. No need to call me or email me.

There’s much more to it – it’s one of the most powerful ways to weed through the muck and mire of all the homes that are for sale.

As we move into the latter half of 2008 exactly where are we in the Real Estate market? It really depends on who you talk to and where you are specifically inquiring about. I know that here in Fairfield County, it sure seems that things are getting more active than they’ve been. Houses (if they’re priced right) appear to be selling faster than they were just a few months ago.

We’re still in a depreciating market, for sure.

What causes a depreciating market is not mysterious. It is caused by having more available homes for buyers to choose from. In order to make out well in this market, sellers have to understand where to price their homes and buyers have to understand how to determine what to bid when making a purchase.

Every situation for every buyer and every seller in every town is different than the rest. You can’t make a good decision on these important issues from listening to national headlines.

The goal of this site is to help you get a broad education on both global issues as well as local ones that impact Fairfield County. As you read the articles and other information, I invite questions, comments, discussions and opinions — especially if they’re different than mine.
